Managing Civil Rights Reference Data
Reference data is information that is stored permanently
in the database and used to create and maintain the standardized information
used in entity records. Some reference data is generic in nature and rarely
changes (for example, the values used for units of measure such as kilometer
or pound). However, most reference data is specific to your agency. After
the application is initially installed, any reference data specific to
your agency must be recorded and maintained.
The Civil Rights Reference Data component provides access to all the
reference data required by your agency's work processes in the civil rights
area of the AASHTOWare Project Civil Rights & Labor software.
To add new reference data, select Add
from the Actions menu to the right
of the type of data you want to add. To make changes to reference data,
click the link for the type of data you want to change, or select Open from the Actions
menu.

Over time, as improvements are made in construction methods and materials,
vendors and material sources close, and other changes occur, some reference
data becomes outdated and should no longer be used. For this reason, you
can assign a date to some reference data to indicate when it will automatically
become obsolete and no longer included on any entity lists in the system
(for more information, see
Managing
Reference Data Status).
