Maintaining Code Table Information

Codes and predefined information used in AASHTOWare Project can be stored in database code tables. Information stored in code tables is used to create entity records such as projects and proposals (for example, the values used for units of measure such as kilometer or pound). Entity record values can be changed, but the reference code table values are usually maintained by the agency and rarely deleted.

When you click the Code Tables link in the Reference Data component, the system takes you to the Code Table Overview component where you can add, change, and delete information contained in reference code tables. Type criteria in the Quick Find search box to locate the code table row you want to maintain, or click Show first 10.

The system displays a list of rows for all the code tables that match your search criteria. Each row contains the Table name link, description, number of values it contains, and an Actions button.

Each row contains an Actions button and current values for the following fields:

Each row also contains a check box for each of these business areas in the web-based AASHTOWare Project software:

To enable users to filter reference information by business area, select the check box for each business area associated with the code table and click Save.

To view or maintain code table values for a code table, click Table name link, or select Open from the Actions menu on the code table row. For more information about a specific code table, see Code Table Definitions.

To add a new code table to the system, select Add from the Actions menu on the component header.

To delete a code table, select Delete from the Actions button on the code table's row. Click the Save button to apply your changes to the system.
