Maintaining OJT Program Information

On-the-job training programs are used by state agencies to direct training opportunities to minority, female and other economically disadvantaged individuals with the goal of developing marketable skills that allow them to gain journey worker status in highway construction crafts. OJT programs may be used as an affirmative action tool to assist contractors in meeting their Equal Employment Opportunity obligations and are therefore monitored by agency labor administration.

When you click the OJT Programs link in the Reference Data component, the system takes you to the On the Job Trainee Program Overview component. You can add, change, and delete reference OJT program rows, including skill set information and wage rate progressions. Type criteria in the Quick Find search box to locate the OJT program row you want to maintain, or click Show first 10.

The system displays a list of rows for all the OJT programs in the system that match your search criteria. Each row contains current values for the following fields and an Actions button:

To maintain a reference item, click the Reference OJT Program link in the list.

To add a new reference item to the system, select Add from the Actions menu on the component header.

To delete a reference OJT program, select Delete from the Actions button on the OJT Program's row.

When you have finished maintaining OJT programs, click the Save button to apply your changes to the system (including deleted information). The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved in the database.
