Adding a Reference OJT Program

On-the-job training programs are used by state agencies to direct training opportunities to minority, female and other economically disadvantaged individuals with the goal of developing marketable skills that allow them to gain journey worker status in highway construction crafts. OJT programs may be used as an affirmative action tool to assist contractors in meeting their Equal Employment Opportunity obligations and are therefore monitored by agency labor administration.

To create a reference OJT program on the On the Job Trainee Program Overview, select Add from the Actions menu on the component header.

The Add Reference OJT Program component opens on the General tab, which allows you to add header information for the new OJT Program row. From this component you can also add the required skill sets and wage rate progressions for the program by clicking additional tabs located on the left side of the component.

It is not required, but you can enter information in these fields on the General tab to record additional information about the new OJT program:

Click in a field and add information as required. When you have finished adding information, click the Save button to apply your changes to the system. The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved in the database.

To add additional information for the OJT program, click one of the following tabs:

Wage Rate Progression

Click this tab to add wage rate progression information for the OJT program (see Maintaining OJT Program Wage Rate Progressions).

Skill Sets

Click this tab to add the skill sets required for the OJT program (see Maintaining OJT Program Skill Sets).

If you want to add more than one reference OJT program, click the New button when you have finished entering information for the current OJT program. The system automatically saves the current OJT program in the system and clears the fields on the component. Follow the same steps to continue adding as many reference OJT programs as required.
