Maintaining Reference Issue Information

The system uses a reference issue as a guide for how a tracked issue should operate and what information it contains. This includes the steps or processes that need to be fulfilled in order to resolve the tracked issue.

Issues can be used to track many different workflows and processes. For example, your agency could use an issue for the process followed when a new price is needed for a reference item. The first step in the tracked issue could be to review the current price, then create an updated price if needed, and finally approve the new price. Your agency would define these steps, along with the triggers and users included in the process, by creating a reference issue. After the reference issue is set up, it can be used to create tracked issues as needed.

When you click the Issues link in the Reference Data component, the system takes you to the Issue Overview component. The Issue Overview component lists the reference issues for which your user account is specified as an owner. You can add, change, and delete information contained in reference issue rows. Type criteria in the Quick Find search box to locate the issue row you want to maintain, or click Show first 10 to display the reference issues in the system.

Each row contains an Actions menu and current values for the following fields:

To modify a reference issue, click the reference issue Name link in the list, or choose Open from the Actions menu on the issue row.  For more information, see Maintaining a Reference Issue.

To add a new reference item to the system, select Add from the Actions menu on the Issue Overview component header. For more information, see Adding a Reference Issue.

To delete an issue, select Delete from the Actions menu on the issue row. The system shades the row gray to indicate it is marked for deletion. To reverse the delete action, click the Undo button.

Click the Save button to apply your changes. The system displays a message to confirm your changes were saved.
