AASHTOWare Project materials are substances used in highway construction, such as sand, asphalt, and reinforced steel. Your transportation agency is responsible for assuring the quality of the materials used in its construction projects. Materials are validated through mix designs, sampling, and testing.

The Materials tab on the Daily Source Report Summary contains an accordion list of all the production materials recorded for the DSR. You can view or change the following information:

Click in a field to add, change, or delete information as needed. Click the Save button when you are finished.

Click the Select Materials button to add a new production material. See Adding a Material to a DSR.

Click the Select Supplied Materials button to add a new supplied material to the DSR. See Adding a Supplied Material to a DSR.


The Material row Actions menu has the following functions: 

Actions

Select Add New SMFMI to create a new SMFMI for a DSR material. See Adding a New SMFMI to a DSR Material.

Select Delete to remove a production material from the DSR. To reverse the delete action, click the Undo button.

Select Select Existing SMFMI to add an existing SMFMI to a DSR material. See Adding Existing SMFMIs to a DSR Material.

Tasks

Select Create New Sample Record to create a new sample record for a material record on the DSR. See Creating a Sample Record from a DSR or SMFMI.

Views

Select Attachments to manage attachments in a project. See Working with Attachments.

Select Links to manage links in a project. See Working with Links.

Select Tracked Issues to manage tracked issues for a project. See Maintaining Tracked Issue Information.

If your agency has associated agency views, they will display in this section, alphabetically. Select an agency view to go to the Agency View Summary component. You can modify data in agency views with an Active association, and view data in Inactive agency views where data exists.

Reports

If the system includes reports for this component, they will display in this section, alphabetically. Select the report you want to run. See Working with Reports.

Adding a Material to a DSR

Follow these steps to add one or more materials to a DSR:

  1. On the Materials tab on the Daily Source Report Summary, click the Select Materials button.

    The system displays a modal window for selecting materials.

  2. In the modal window, locate the material you want to add to the DSR by typing criteria in the Quick Find search box.

    The system lists all the materials that match your search criteria.

  3. Click the row for each material you want to add.

    The system adds a check mark beside each material you select. To cancel a selection, click the selected row again.

  4. Click the Add to DSR button.

    The system closes the modal window and takes you to the Materials tab of the Daily Source Report Summary with rows for the new materials added to the list.

  5. Click the Save button.

Adding a Supplied Material to a DSR

Follow these steps to add one or more supplied materials to a DSR:

  1. On the Materials tab on the Daily Source Report Summary, click the Select Supplied Materials button.

    The system displays a modal window for selecting supplied materials.

  2. In the modal window, locate the supplied material you want to add to the DSR by typing criteria in the Quick Find search box.

    The system lists all the supplied materials that match your search criteria.

  3. Click the row for each supplied material you want to add.

    The system adds a check mark beside each supplied material you select. To cancel a selection, click the selected row again.

  4. Click the Add to DSR button.

    The system closes the modal window and takes you to the Materials tab of the Daily Source Report Summary with rows for the new supplied materials added to the list.

  5. Click the Save button.


A DSR material may be associated with one or more source material facility material identifications (SMFMIs). To view the SMFMIs associated with a DSR material, expand the accordion row.  You can view or change the following information:

Click in a field to add, change, or delete information as needed. Click the Save button when you are finished.

Click the SMFMI link to record information related to a single SMFMI on a DSR. See Maintaining a DSR Material SMFMI.


The SMFMI row Actions menu has the following functions:

Select Delete to remove an SMFMI from a DSR material. Click the Undo button to reverse the delete action.

Select Open to open an associated SMFMI record. See Recording Material Quantities Received.

Tasks

Select Create New Sample Record to create a new sample record for a material SMFMI record on the DSR. See Creating a Sample Record from a DSR or SMFMI for more information.

Views

Select Attachments to manage attachments in a project. See Working with Attachments.

Select Links to manage links in a project. See Working with Links.

Select Sample Records to manage sample records associated with the selected material or SMFMI. See Managing DSR Sample Records.

Select SMFMI to manage information for source material and facility material identifications. See Maintaining Source Material Facility Material Identifications.

Select Tracked Issues to manage tracked issues for a project. See Maintaining Tracked Issue Information.

If your agency has associated agency views, they will display in this section, alphabetically. Select an agency view to go to the Agency View Summary component. You can modify data in agency views with an Active association, and view data in Inactive agency views where data exists.

If the system includes reports for this component, they will display in this section, alphabetically. Select the report you want to run. See Working with Reports.

Adding Existing SMFMIs to a DSR Material

Follow these steps to add one or more existing SMFMIs to the DSR material:

  1. On the Materials tab on the Daily Source Report Summary, select Select Existing SMFMI from the Actions menu on the material row.

    The system displays the Select Existing SMFMI modal window.

  2. Locate the SMFMI you want to add by typing criteria in the Quick Find search box.

    The system lists all the SMFMIs that match your search criteria.

  3. Click the row for each SMFMI you want to add.

    The system adds a check mark beside each SMFMI you select. To cancel a selection, click the selected row again.

  4. Click the Add to DSR Material button.

    The system closes the modal window and takes you to the Materials tab of the Daily Source Report Summary with rows for the new materials added to the list.

  5. Click the Save button.
