Maintaining a Mix Design

The Mix Design Summary includes all of the information recorded in the system about a mix design. You can access the summary by navigating to the Mix Design Overview and clicking the Mix Design ID link for the design you want to view.

Note: You can view, add or edit a mix design only for sources and facilities for which your current user role provides access via source authority or vendor authority. For agency users, source authority is automatically granted to mix designs for sources that have a null value in the Source Management Level field.

Note: Approved mix designs can be modified only by users whose active user role is assigned access rights that allow updating an approved mix design. Users without access rights to modify approved mix designs can still add contracts, remarks, and attachments to the mix design if needed.

The summary opens on the General tab. You can view or change values in these fields:

You can add or change remarks in the Remarks box. To add a remark, first select the type of remark from the Type field, and then enter a comment in the Remarks text box.

Click in a field and add, change, or delete information as needed. When you are finished, click the Save button. The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved.

To add a new SMFMI for a material in this mix design and associate the SMFMI with the mix design, select Add New SMFMI from the Actions menu on the component header. The system takes you to the Add Source Material Facility Material Identification for Mix Design component. See Adding a New SMFMI for a Mix Design for more information.

To add a new mix design to the system, select Add New Mix Design from the Actions menu on the component header. The system takes you to the Add Mix Design component. See Adding a Mix Design for more information.

To add a new mix design based on the current mix design, select Copy from the Actions menu on the component header. The system takes you to the Copy Mix Design component. See Copying a Mix Design for more information.

If one or more agency views are associated with this mix design via the mix design type, you can access them by selecting the name of the agency view from the Actions menu on the component header. If an agency view was used to enter data but the agency view association is now inactive, you can view but not add or modify data displayed in the agency view instance. If the Superpave Mix Design agency view is associated with this mix design, you can access the agency view by selecting Superpave Mix Design from the Actions menu on the component header. See Maintaining a Superpave Mix Design for more information.
