Maintaining Component Materials for a Mix Design

The Component Materials tab on the Mix Design Summary lists the materials included in the mix design, as well as information about the sources of the material and the percentage used in the mix.

You can expand a material row to view additional information. Each row includes an Actions button. You can view or change values in these fields:

Click in a field to add, change, or delete information as needed. After you enter a Source, the system filters the values available in the Brand Name field to show only brands associated with the selected source. If you also enter a Facility, the system applies an additional filter to show only those brands associated with the selected facility. Click the Save button when you are finished.

 


The component Actions menu has the following functions:

Select Add New Mix Design to add a new mix design. See Adding a Mix Design.

Select Add New SMFMI to add a new SMFMI for a material in this mix design and associate the SMFMI with the mix design. See Adding a New SMFMI for a Mix Design.

Select Copy to create a new mix design by copying the current mix design. See Copying a Mix Design.

Views

Select Attachments to manage attachments in a mix design. See Working with Attachments.

Select Issues to manage tracked issues for a mix design. See Maintaining Tracked Issue Information.

Select Links to manage links in a mix design. See Working with Links.

If your agency has agency views associated with a component material via the mix design type, they will display in this section, alphabetically. Select the agency view you want to edit. If an agency view was used to enter data but the agency view association is now inactive, you can view but not add or modify data displayed in the agency view instance. See Maintaining Mix Design Types and Understanding Agency Views.

 


The row Actions menu has the following functions:

Select Delete to delete a material from the mix design. Select the Undo button to reverse the delete action. Click the Save button when you are finished.

Select Exclude from Search Results to exclude a material from search results.

Select Attachments to manage attachments in a mix design. See Working with Attachments.

Select Links to manage links in a mix design. See Working with Links.

Select Tracked Issues to manage tracked issues for a mix design. See Maintaining Tracked Issue Information.

Adding Component Materials

To add one or more component materials to the mix design, follow these steps:

  1. On the Mix Design Summary, click the Component Materials tab, and then click the Select Component Materials button.

    The system displays a modal window for selecting materials.

  2. Click the row for the material you want to add.

    The system adds a green check mark at the beginning of the row. You can click the row again to clear the selection.

  3. Continue selecting rows for materials you want to add to the mix design.

  4. When you are finished, click the Add to Mix Design button.

    The system closes the modal window and lists the materials you added on the Component Materials tab.

  5. For each component material you added, enter a value in the Source field. 

  6. For each component material, enter a value in the Brand Name field.

  7. In the Percentage of Mix Design field for each component material, enter the percentage of the total mix design that is composed of the component material.  

  8. For each component material sourced from a particular facility, enter the facility in the Facility field.

  9. When you are finished, click the Save button.
