Maintaining a Cost Estimate Snapshot

The Cost Estimate Snapshot Summary provides access to all of the information saved as part of a cost estimate snapshot, including the cost estimate and all its associated child records. Because a snapshot records the condition of the cost estimate at a specific point in time, most of the information in a snapshot is read-only.

You can access the summary by navigating to the Cost Estimate Snapshot Overview, locating the snapshot you want to view, and then selecting Open from the Actions menu on the snapshot row.

The Cost Estimate Snapshot Summary contains the following tabs:

General

Access general information for the cost estimate snapshot. See On the General tab, below.

Entity

Click this tab to view information about the entity -  a cost estimate, concept, project, or proposal - that is associated with the snapshot. See Viewing Entity Information in a Snapshot.

 

Cost Estimate

Click this tab to view general information about the cost estimate in the snapshot. See Viewing Cost Estimate Information in a Snapshot.

 

Cost Summary

Access totals for the cost estimate. See Viewing Cost Summary Information in a Snapshot.

 

Categories

Access category information for the cost estimate. See Viewing Categories in a Snapshot.

 

Cost Estimate Items

Access item information for the cost estimate. See Viewing Cost Estimate Items in a Snapshot.

 

Variables

Access variable information for the cost estimate. See Viewing Variables in a Snapshot.

 

Ad Hoc Pricing

Access ad hoc pricing information for the cost estimate. See Viewing Ad Hoc Pricing in a Snapshot.

 

Non-Construction Costs

Access non-construction cost information for the cost estimate. See Viewing Non-Construction Costs in a Snapshot.

 

Markups

Access markup information for the cost estimate. See Viewing Markups in a Snapshot.

 

Annualization

Access annualization information for the cost estimate. See Viewing Annualized Costs in a Snapshot.

 

 

On the General tab:

You can view or change information in these fields:

The Snapshot Summary opens on the General tab. You can view or change values in these fields:

To add information in the Remarks field, first select the type of remark from the Type field, and then enter a comment in the Remarks text box. You cannot delete a remark from a snapshot. You can change the values in the Description and Snapshot Reason fields. The remaining fields are read-only.

Click in a field to add, change, or delete information as needed. Click the Save button when you are finished.

Quick Links

Quick links are displayed in blue text below the Menu Bar and above the webpage title. These links allow you to quickly jump to application pages related to the current page.

 


The component Actions menu has the following functions:

Views

Select Attachments to manage attachments in a cost estimate. See Working with Attachments.

Select Issues to manage tracked issues for a cost estimate. See Maintaining Tracked Issue Information.

Select Links to manage links in a cost estimate. See Working with Links.

If your agency has associated agency views, they will display in this section, alphabetically. Select an agency view to go to the Agency View Summary component. You can modify data in agency views with an Active association, and view data in Inactive agency views where data exists.

Reports

If the system includes reports for this component, they will display in this section, alphabetically. Select the report you want to run. See Working with Reports.
