Adding a Daily Work Report

Daily Work Reports (DWRs) are created to document the work that is performed daily on a contract. The information recorded in a DWR is based on actual activity, not planned activity, and is essential for the administration of a contract. Daily information is recorded about the weather, the personnel who worked at the construction site, the hours worked, and the equipment used. This data is collected in the field by the project manager, project engineer, and the inspectors working on the contract.

Multiple DWRs may be created per day. Each DWR must be approved before the information recorded can be submitted on a Daily Diary. When a DWR is submitted for approval, it is either approved or sent back to be modified and resubmitted. The project manager can review or print all the information in one or more DWRs by generating a DWR Report.

To access the Add Daily Work Report component from All Daily Work Report component, choose Select Contract to Add DWR from the component Actions menu.

Quick Links

The component Actions menu has the following functions:

Views

Select Attachments to manage attachments. The Attachments link includes the number of files attached to this record. See Working with Attachments.
Select Issues to manage tracked issues. See Maintaining Tracked Issue Information.
Select Links to manage links. See Working with Links.
If your agency has associated agency views, they will display in this section, alphabetically. Select an agency view to go to the Agency View Summary component. You can modify data in agency views with an Active association, and view data in Inactive agency views where data exists.

Reports

If the system includes reports for this component, they will display in this section, alphabetically. Select the report you want to run. See Working with Reports.

Adding a Daily Work Report

To add a DWR, follow these steps:

  1. In the Construction component, click the Daily Work Reports link.

  2. On the Daily Work Report Overview, choose Select Contract to Add DWR from the component Actions menu.

    The system displays a modal window for selecting a contract.

  3. Locate the contract to which you want to add a DWR by typing criteria in the Quick Find search box or clicking Show first 10.

    The system displays rows of contracts that match your criteria.

  4. Click the contract row to select it.

    The system adds a check mark at the beginning of the row. You can click a different row to change your selection.

  5. Click the Create DWR on Contract button.

    The system takes you to the Add Daily Work Report component.

To record a remark, you must first select the type of remark from the Type field, then enter explanatory text in the Remarks text box. You can delete any remark by clicking the Delete button to the right of the remark.

Click Save when you are finished. The system displays a message to confirm that the new information was saved in the database.
