This section provides information necessary for using AASHTOWare Project Preconstruction.
The Preconstruction component is the gateway to other components in the application you will use to manage projects, prime projects, proposals, and bid lettings. To access the Overview component for one of these areas, click the corresponding link in the Preconstruction component, or to the right of the same link select Open from the Actions menu.
For in-depth information about projects, see Managing Projects. To save time, you can perform these common tasks directly from the Preconstruction component:
To add a new project to the system, select Add from the Actions menu for Projects (for more information, see Adding a Project).
To check in a project that you checked out to Estimator, select Check In from the Actions menu for Projects (for more information, see Checking In a Project from Estimator).
To import a project file from Estimator, select Import from the Actions menu for Projects (for more information, see Importing Project Information from Estimator and Other Applications).
For in-depth information about prime projects, see Managing Prime Projects. To save time, you can perform this common task directly from the Preconstruction component:
To add a new prime project to the system, select Add from the Actions menu for Prime Projects (for more information, see Adding a Prime Project).

To add a new proposal record, select Add from the Actions menu for Proposals (for more information, see Adding a Proposal).

To add a new bid letting, select Add from the Actions menu for Lettings (for more information, see Adding a Bid Letting).
To add multiple new bid lettings, select Quick Add from the Actions menu for Lettings (for more information, see Adding a List of Bid Lettings).
To import bid information from Bids, select Import from Bids from the Actions menu for Lettings (for more information, see Importing Information from Bids).
