A prime project generally represents all work to be performed under a single federal project number. This work is subdivided into projects. Each project represents a logical portion of the prime project. For example, one project might contain all of the bid items, another preliminary engineering and rights-of-way, and another non-biddable construction work such as force accounts.
To create a new prime project, select Add from the Actions menu on the Prime Project Overview component header.
On the Add Prime Project component, you can enter information in these fields:
Entry in the Prime Project ID field is required in order to save the new prime project. When you are finished adding information, click the Save button. The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved in the database. The new prime project is displayed on the Prime Project Summary component.
