Maintaining Milestones for a Cost Estimate Maintenance Schedule

  1. Selecting Items to Add to a Milestone

The Milestones tab on the Cost Estimate Life Cycle Maintenance Schedule Summary lists all the maintenance milestones and items recorded for the cost estimate maintenance schedule.

Each milestone row includes an Actions button and current values in these fields:

You can expand a maintenance milestone row to display rows for items needed to complete the maintenance. Each item row includes an Actions button. You can expand an item row to view or change values in these fields:

You can enter a number in the Price and Quantity fields, or you can click the Formula button (Σ) in the field to calculate the value by using the expression builder (see Using the Expression Builder). When you enter a value in the Price field, the system sets the Price Source field to Ad Hoc and sets other active price bases to inactive.

A Details button is displayed to the right of the Price field. You can click the Details button to view an overlay with the different prices included in the Price value, along with the calculation methods used to determine each amount. To view or maintain a bid-based task for a milestone item, click the Details button next to the item Price field, and then click the Bid Based link on the Details overlay. The system takes you to the Cost Estimate Life Cycle Maintenance Schedule Bid Based Task Summary. To view or maintain reference price tasks for an item on the estimate, click the Details button next to the item Price field, and then click the Reference link on the Details overlay. The system takes you to the Cost Estimate Life Cycle Maintenance Reference Price Task Summary. To create a new maintenance milestone, click the New button. The system adds a new milestone row. To save the new row, you must enter values in the Maintenance Milestone and Milestone Year fields.

To add an item to a milestone, select Add Item from the Actions menu on the milestone row. The system adds a new item row beneath the selected milestone row. To save the new row, you must enter a value in the Item field. The list of items is filtered to show only those items that share the same unit system as the maintenance schedule profile.

To delete a milestone and its items from the cost estimate maintenance schedule, select Delete from the Actions menu on the milestone row. The system shades the row gray to indicate it is marked for deletion. To reverse the delete action, click the Undo button.

To delete an item from a milestone, select Delete from the Actions menu on the item row. The system shades the row gray to indicate it is marked for deletion. To reverse the delete action, click the Undo button.

When you are finished making changes, click the Save button. The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved in the database.

Selecting Items to Add to a Milestone

To select one or more items to add to a milestone, perform these steps:

  1. Go to the Milestones tab on the Cost Estimate Life Cycle Maintenance Schedule Summary, and choose Select Items from the Actions menu on the milestone row.

    The system displays a modal window that lists items from the same spec book and unit system as the cost estimate.

  2. Click an item row to select it.

    A check mark appears at the beginning of the row to indicate it is selected. Continue selecting item rows as needed. You can click a row again to clear the selection.

  3. When you are finished, click the Add to Profile button.

    The system closes the modal window and adds the selected item rows beneath the appropriate milestone row.
