A material set is a group of materials associated with an item. When you associate a material set with a:
Reference item: the material set, materials, and acceptance actions also apply to any contract project items based on that reference item.
Contract project item: the association does not affect the underlying reference data. You can add a material set to a contract project item only after you have generated materials and acceptance actions for the contract.
The Contract Materials and Acceptance Actions Summary opens on the Materials tab. For each contract project item, the Materials tab lists any material sets and materials associated with the corresponding reference item.
You can find a specific material by entering criteria in the Quick Find search box, or you can filter the list by selecting a value in the Item Source field. The system displays a list of rows that match your criteria.
In each material set row, you can view or change values in these fields:
The material set row Actions menu has the following functions:
Select Add Material to add a new contract project item material set material. Keep in mind that after you add a material to a contract project item material set, you cannot delete it. See Adding Materials to Contract Project Item Material Set .
Note: To add a material set to the contract, navigate to the Contract Items component and click the Contract Project Items tab. See Adding a Material Set to a Contract Project Item.
Select Copy Material Set to copy a material set to one or more contract project items. See Copying Material Sets.
Select Attachments to manage attachments in a project. See Working with Attachments.
Select Tracked Issues to manage tracked issues for a project. See Maintaining Tracked Issue Information.
Select Links to manage links in a project. See Working with Links.
You can copy a material set to one or more items to save time. To copy a material set for contract project items:
Locate the material set row you want to copy.
Click the material set row Actions menu and select Copy Material Set...
The system displays a modal window with a list of the project items for this contract.
Type a name for the material set in the New Material Set Name field.
Type criteria in the Quick Find search box to locate the contract project items that should receive the material set. Or, click Show First 10.
The modal window lists rows of contract project items that match your criteria.
Click to select one or more items.
A check mark displays at the beginning of the row to indicate it is selected.
Click the Add to Contract Project Item button.
The system closes the modal window and copies the material set to the items you selected.

You can expand a material set row to display rows for materials that are part of that set. In each material row, you can view or change values in these fields:
Note: To select a source or facility for a contract material, the source or facility must already have an association with the material. For more information, see Working with Source Materials and Working with Facility Materials.
