Using the Mobile Inspector Application

Web-based AASHTOWare Project™ works with several mobile applications that allow agency personnel to use a smartphone or tablet to capture information in the field.
Infotech Mobile Inspector works with AASHTOWare Project Construction & Materials™ to allow inspectors to collect information required for a daily work report, including item progress, contractor workforce, photos, and site conditions.
Mobile applications can be used online or offline and can accommodate any size contract.

To prepare your inspectors for success when entering daily work reports in Mobile Inspector:

Mobile application integration with AASHTOWare Project relies on two tools to facilitate the data exchange:

Registering Mobile Inspector on a Device

To register your mobile device with SYNC Service for AASHTOWare Project:
  1. Determine which version of Mobile Inspector your agency will be using.

Mobile Inspector is available in two formats, Mobile Inspector (mobile app) and Mobile Inspector 2.0 (web app). Use the format specified by your agency.

    • For Mobile Inspector (mobile app), download and install the free mobile application from either the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Microsoft Windows Apps Store.

    • For Mobile Inspector 2.0 (web app), visit https://mobileinspector.app on the mobile device's browser.

  2. Review the terms and conditions. Click Accept Terms and Register.

Mobile Inspector assigns your device a Device ID.

  3. Provide the Device ID to your system administrator, who will associate your Mobile Inspector device ID with your AASHTOWare Project user account, enabling your device to exchange information between Mobile Inspector and AASHTOWare Project Materials.

Using Mobile Inspector on a Device

Mobile Inspector and the AASHTOWare Project system work together to ensure the security of your data. After registering your device with Mobile Inspector, follow these steps to use the application:

  1. Log in to your device with your username.

If you are the only user on an Android or iOS device, then you may not need to log in each time you use the device. iOS supports only one user per device.

This mobile application registers only one user per device. Even if you use a shared Windows computer or Android device, verify that you have logged in with a username unique to you.

  2. Open the Mobile Inspector application.
