Setup is required to integrate the mobile applications with AASHTOWare Project. When properly configured, the applications can exchange information collected with the mobile applications with data created in AASHTOWare Project.
To enable access for your agency to the mobile applications, perform the following:
Ensure your agency has licensed SYNC Service for AASHTOWare Project. The SYNC service is required for data transfer between the mobile applications and AASHTOWare Project.
Note the Construction Management System (CMS) ID for your agency's web-based AASHTOWare Project installation. The CMS ID is provided on the Mobile Apps Identification Number page of the installation wizard. You can also find the CMS ID on the System Information component of the AASHTOWare Project application.
Contact the mobile applications team ([email protected]) at Infotech software support to register your agency's CMS ID.
Along with the CMS ID, you can provide an intuitive name that will be used to identify your installation. You can also provide an email address that will receive important error messages from the Bridge process. Complete log files for the processes are available on the Process History Overview (see Viewing Process History).
Schedule the bridge process.
After access is set up for the mobile application(s) your agency uses, you can configure access for individual users. To enable a user to exchange data between AASHTOWare Project and a mobile application, access the application on the specific mobile device:
Mobile Inspector is available in two formats, Mobile Inspector (mobile app) and Mobile Inspector 2.0 (web app). Use the format specified by your agency.
For Mobile Inspector (mobile app), download and install the free mobile application from either the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Microsoft Windows Apps Store.
For Mobile Inspector 2.0 (web app), visit https://mobileinspector.app on the mobile device's browser.
Upon installation, the mobile application will provide a unique device ID. In AASHTOWare Project, add the device to the user account by entering the device ID and the app you have installed on the Devices tab on the User Summary.
Additionally, users must be assigned contract-specific contract authority in order to access contract data and enter information in the mobile application. Assigning All Contract Access or inheriting office-wide contract authority does not provide the user with access to contract data in the mobile applications.
In AASHTOWare Project, ensure that the user is assigned:
For Field Interviewer, a user role that has the Field Interviewer check box selected.
For Mobile Inspector, a user role that has the DWR Inspector check box selected.
For Mobile Tester, Qualifications for Lab and Test, as well as User Roles, with contract-specific contract authority.
The next time the mobile device has internet connectivity and the bridge process runs, the user will be able to view contract data in the mobile application and enter information as needed.
