Maintaining a Typical Section Profile

A typical section profile represents a standard design for a typical road section, including detail items needed to complete the work. Typical sections can be used repeatedly in a cost estimate. The Typical Section Summary contains all of the information recorded for a typical section profile.

To access the summary, click the Typical Section Profiles link in the Estimation or Estimation Reference Data components, locate the profile you want to view, and then select Open from the Actions menu on the profile row.

The component opens on the General tab. You can view or change information in these fields:

Click in a field and add, change, or delete information as needed. When you are finished, click the Save button. The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved in the database.

To add a new typical section profile to the system, select Add New from the Actions menu on the component header. The system takes you to the Add Typical Section Profile guided process. For more information, see Adding a Typical Section Profile.

To create a new typical section profile based on the current profile, select Copy from the Actions menu on the component header. The system takes you to the Copy Typical Section Profile component. For more information, see Copying a Typical Section Profile.
