Maintaining a Transition Profile

The Transition Profile Summary contains all of the information recorded for this parametric item transition profile. A transition profile maps a parametric item or parametric group to one or more reference items. The profile can then be used to transition a parameter-based cost estimate to a detail-item cost estimate.

To access the summary, click the Transition Profile link in the Reference Data component, locate the transition profile you want, and then select Open from the Actions menu on the profile row.

The Transition Profile Summary opens on the General tab. You can view or change information in these fields:

To enter or modify the obsolete date for the transition profile, click in the Obsolete Date field, and enter information as needed. You can change the value in the Parametric Item field only if the profile does not yet include associated detail items. The Detail Items field displays the number of detail items currently included in the profile.

Click the Save button when you are finished. The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved in the database.

To view or change additional information for this transition profile, click this tab:

Click this tab to view, change, or add detail items that are mapped to the parametric item in this profile (see Maintaining Detail Items for a Transition Profile).

To create a new transition profile, select Add New from the Actions menu on the component header. The system takes you to the Add Transition Profile component. See Adding a Transition Profile for more information.

To create a new transition profile based on this profile, select Copy from the Actions menu on the component header. You can copy a transition profile only if the profile already includes detail items. The system takes you to the Copy Transition Profile component. See Copying a Transition Profile for more information.
