Maintaining a Contingency Assignment for a Cost Estimate

A contingency assignment profile is a group of common risk factors that can be associated with an estimate to allow for items, conditions, or events that will likely result in additional costs. You can associate a contingency profile with a cost estimate during any phase of the estimation life cycle. Any subsequent changes made to the cost estimate contingency do not affect the original contingency assignment profile.
