Maintaining Material Sets for an Item

The Material Set Summary contains a list of materials that are part of the material set. After a material set is created on the Material Sets tab of the Item Summary, you can add materials to the set on the Material Set Summary. To access the summary, go to the Material Sets tab for the item, and select Open from the Actions menu on the appropriate material set row.

On the Material Set Summary component, you can display information for a different material set associated with the item by clicking the Material Set arrow on the subheader, and then selecting the material set in the list. You can also scroll through all the material sets associated with the item by using the arrow buttons on the right side of the subheader.

The collapsible Materials section lists all of the materials that are part of the material set. Each row represents one material. Each row includes an Actions button and values in the Material, Conversion Factor, and Unit fields.

To delete a material from the selected material set, select Delete from the Actions menu on the material row. The system shades the row gray to indicate it is marked for deletion. To reverse the delete action, click the Undo button.

To add one or more materials to the selected material set, click the Select Materials button. The system displays a modal window that lists materials that are not already part of this material set. You can find a material by typing criteria in the Quick Find search box, or you can filter the list by material category by entering a value in the Category field. Click one or more materials in the list. When you are finished, click the Add to Item button. The system closes the modal window and adds the new materials to the list.

To save your changes, click the Save button. The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved in the database.

  5. Click the Copy button.
