The Qualifications tab on the Lab Summary component contains a list of the sampling and testing qualifications recorded for the laboratory. Rows are divided into two collapsible sections according to the type of qualification: Sampling Qualifications and Testing Qualifications.

For a lab to be marked as Active, it must have at least one active qualification. By default, each section shows only lab qualifications with an active status. If you want to view lab qualifications with other statuses, clear the Active Sampling Qualifications check box or Active Testing Qualifications check box, as appropriate for each section. If you want to show only active qualifications, select the appropriate check box again.

In either the Sampling Qualifications or Testing Qualifications sections, locate a specific qualification by scrolling through the list or by typing criteria in the Quick Find search box. The system displays a list of rows for qualifications that match your search criteria.

Each qualification row contains an Actions button. Expand a row to view or change values in these fields:

 

To add a remark, first select the type of remark from the Type field, then enter explanatory text in the Remarks text box. To delete a newly added remark, click the Delete button to the right of the remark. You can delete a saved remark by clicking the Mark for Deletion button. You can undo the mark for deletion by clicking the Undo button.

To delete a qualification, select Delete from the Actions menu on the qualification row. You cannot delete a qualification if it is associated with a sample record test or a test assignment information record. To reverse the delete action, click the Undo button.

When you are finished making changes, click the Save button. The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved in the database.

To view reference data for a qualification, select Open Qualification from the Actions menu on the qualification row. The system takes you to the Qualifications Summary. For more information, see Changing a Qualification.

Adding a Qualification to a Lab

You can add either or both qualification types to a lab: sampling and testing. To enable tests to sync to Mobile Tester, add to the Lab Unit only those qualifications that include the Mobile Tester tests. This qualification affects the Test Assignment Information you are able to enter, which is what Mobile Tester uses to determine which tests are available in the app.

The steps you need to perform are the same for each type of qualification, but they are performed on different sections on the Qualifications tab.

Adding a Sampling Qualification to a Lab

To add a sampling qualification, follow these steps:

  1. On the Lab Summary component, click the Qualifications tab, and then click the Select Sampling Qualifications button in the Sampling Qualifications section.

    The Select Sampling Qualifications modal window displays rows of sampling qualification reference data already entered in the system.

  2. Select the row for each qualification you want to add to the lab.

    The system adds a check mark beside each row you select. To cancel a selection, click the selected row again.

  3. When you are finished selecting qualifications, click the Add to Lab button.

    The system closes the modal window and takes you to the Qualifications tab on the Lab Summary component with a new sampling qualification added to the list.

  4. If needed, enter values in the Effective Date, Expiration Date, Status, Remark Type, and Remark fields for each new row.

  5. When you are finished, click the Save button to apply your changes.

    The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved.

Adding a Testing Qualification to a Lab

To add a testing qualification, follow these steps:

  1. On the Lab Summary component, click the Qualifications tab, and then click the Select Testing Qualifications button in Testing Qualifications section.

    The Select Testing Qualifications modal window displays rows of testing qualification reference data already entered in the system.

  2. Select the row for each qualification you want to add to the lab.

    The system adds a check mark beside each row you select and shades the row. To cancel a selection, click the selected row again.

  3. When you are finished selecting qualifications, click the Add to Lab button.

    The system closes the modal window and takes you to the Qualifications tab on the Lab Summary component with a new testing qualification added to the list.

  4. If needed, enter values in the Effective Date, Expiration Date, Status, Remark Type, and Remark fields for each new row.

  5. When you are finished, click the Save button to apply your changes.

    The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved.
