Maintaining Item Mapping Information

In AASHTOWare Project, you can create a one-time mapping of items from an old spec book to a new spec book. You would need to use this feature when your agency creates a new spec book where item numbers from the previous spec book are changed or re-used for different items in the new spec book. The mapping makes it possible for AASHTOWare Project to generate bid-based prices for the full bid history of an item.

When you click the Item Mappings link in the Reference Data component, the system takes you to the Item Mapping Overview component. You can use the accordion list of reference item mappings to view and delete information. Type criteria in the Quick Find search box to locate the item mapping row you want to maintain, or click Show first 10. The system displays a list of rows for item mappings that match your search criteria.

Each item mapping row contains an Actions menu and current values for the following fields:

To view additional information about the reference item mapping, expand the row. For each item in the mapping, the expanded row contains an Actions menu and current values for the following fields:

To delete a reference item mapping, select Delete from the Actions menu on the item mapping row. To reverse the delete action, click the Undo button. When you are finished, click the Save button. The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved in the database.

To add a new reference item mapping to the system, see Importing Item Mappings.
