Maintaining Detail Items for an Item Group

In this Topic

  1. Adding Multiple Items to an Item Group

The Detail Items tab on the Item Group Summary contains a list of all the items included in the item group.

Each row includes an Actions button and current values in these fields:

Click in a field and add, change, or delete information as needed. The system updates the value in the Unit field based on your entry in the Item field.

To delete an item from the item group, select Delete from the Actions menu on the item row. If the item group was created from a reference item, you cannot delete that item from the item group (see Creating an Item Group from a Reference Item). To reverse the delete action, click the Undo button.

To add a reference item to the item group, click the New button. The system adds a new row to the list. To save the new row, you must enter values in the Item and Conversion fields. You can enter a value directly in the Conversion field, or you can click the Formula button (Σ) in the field to calculate the value by using the expression builder. For information about the expression builder, see Using the Expression Builder.

When you are finished making changes, click the Save button. The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved in the database.

Adding Multiple Items to an Item Group

To select one or more items to add to the item group, follow these steps:

  1. On the Detail Items tab on the Item Group Summary, choose Select Reference Items from the Actions menu on the item list.

The system displays a modal window that lists reference items that are not parametric items, have the same spec book and unit system as the item group, and are not already part of any item group in the item group set.

  2. Click an item row to select it.

A check mark appears at the beginning of the row to indicate it is selected. Continue selecting item rows as needed. You can click a row again to clear the selection.

  3. When you are finished, click the Add to Item Group button.

The system closes the modal window, adds the selected items to the list, and displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved.
