Creating an Item Group from a Reference Item

An item group contains items that can be analyzed collectively for generating bid-based pricing. An item group set contains multiple item groups. Each item group must be part of an item group set.

To create an item group from a reference item, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Item Overview, locate the row for the reference item, and then select Create Item Group from the Actions menu on the item row. Or, you can navigate to the Item Summary and select Create Item Group from the Actions menu on the component header.

    The system displays a modal window that lists item group sets.

  2. Click the row for the item group set to which you want to add the new item group.

    A check mark appears at the beginning of the row to indicate it is selected. You can click a different row to change your selection.

  3. Click the Add to Set button.

    The system creates a new item group based on the reference item and displays the new group on the Item Group Summary. The name, description and other fields for the new item group are taken from the reference item. See Maintaining an Item Group.
