Proposals have a validation process that generates a list of warnings about the state of the proposal. These warnings do not stop further processing. When you validate a proposal, associated projects are also validated. For more information, see Project Validation.
The Validate Proposal command can be accessed by clicking the Actions menu on the Proposal Summary component header. When you select Validate Proposal, the following information is validated:
The proposal has a primary county.
The proposal has at least one associated project.
A proposal time record is identified as Main Time.
Proposal items exist for the proposal.
All proposal items have a quantity.
blank, null are not valid.
0 is a warning.
All proposal items have a price.
blank, null are not valid.
0 is a warning.
Unit prices do not fall outside the boundaries of the minimum or maximum value held in the Unit Price Comparison field whenever multiple projects containing items with minimum or maximum bid requirements but with different Unit Price Comparison values are added to the same proposal.
Proposal items identified as fractional lump sums have the same estimated price and quantities that sum to 1.0 (for more information on lump sum and fractional items, see Working with Lump Sum Items).
All proposal items are assigned to a section (needed for Bids).
