Managing SMFMI Authority

In this Topic

  1. Maintaining SMFMI Authorities

By default, a source material facility material identification (SMFMI) is visible only to persons assigned to the appropriate source management level (or any parent level in the same hierarchy). The source management level for an SMFMI is listed in the Responsible Lab field on the General tab in the Source Material Facility Material Identification Summary component. The parent source or parent facility of the SMFMI has permanent authority to make associations with the SMFMI.

Persons with the appropriate source management level assignment may permit global access to the SMFMI by selecting Set Global SMFMI Authority from the Actions menu on the Source Material Facility Material Identification Summary component header. When global SMFMI authority has been enabled for the SMFMI, the system does not display the SMFMI Authority tab on the Source Material Facility Material Identification Summary, and the system removes any SMFMI authority associations with sources, facilities, or contracts that have been granted for the source material identification. The system then permits any related record to be associated with the SMFMI.

Persons with the appropriate source management level assignment may restrict use of the SMFMI by selecting Restrict SMFMI Authority from the Actions menu on the Source Material Facility Material Identification Summary component header. Access to the SMFMI may only be restricted if there are no associated sample records, daily source reports, mix designs, contract materials, or construction stockpiles. When the Restrict SMFMI Authority action has been selected, the system displays the SMFMI Authority tab on the Source Material Facility Material Identification Summary component.

Maintaining SMFMI Authorities

The SMFMI Authority tab on the Source Material Facility Material Identification Summary contains a list of sources, facilities, and contracts permitted to be associated with the source material facility material identification (SMFMI).

Rows are divided into three sections that you can expand and collapse: Sources, Facilities, and Contracts.

In the Sources section, each row contains an Actions button and the Source ID – Name field. To add a new source SMFMI authority, select the New button in the Sources section. A new row is added to the bottom of the list in the Sources section. Enter information as needed.

In the Facilities section, each row contains an Actions button and the Facility ID – Name field. To add a new facility SMFMI authority, select the New button in the Facilities section. A new row is added to the bottom of the list in the Facilities section. Enter information as needed.

In the Contracts section, each row contains an Actions button and the Contract ID – Description field. To add a new contract SMFMI authority, select the New button in the Contracts section. A new row is added to the bottom of the list in the Contracts section. Enter information as needed.

To change an SMFMI authority, click in a field and add, change, or delete information as required.

To delete an SMFMI authority, select Delete from the Actions menu on the SMFMI authority row. To reverse the delete action, click the Undo button.

Click Save when you are finished making changes. The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved in the database.
