Managing Custom Report Templates

Custom report templates are templates your agency has created from a base report template in order to produce a report that is more useful to your agency than one produced from the base report template. You can also create a test report template to experiment with different ways of customizing a report. Once the experimental test report template is finished, it becomes a Custom report template.

The Custom Report Template Overview component displays a list of all the custom report templates your agency has created. It also lists your experimental report templates.

To go to the Custom Report Template Overview, click the Report Templates link in the System Administration component. The Base Report Template Overview component is displayed on the left side of the page, and the Custom Report Template Overview component is displayed on the right side of the page.

Each row represents one custom report template record. Each row contains an Actions button and current values for the following fields:

To access a custom report template, click the File Name link in the list or select Download from the Actions menu on the template row.

To delete a custom report template, select Delete from the Actions menu on the template's row. Click the Save button to apply your changes to the system.

Adding a New Custom Report Template

When you have created a new test report template or a finished custom report template, you can add this template to the list of custom report templates in the Custom Report Template Overview component.

Follow these steps to add a new custom report template:

  1. On the Custom Report Template Overview, select Upload from the Actions menu on the component header.

The system displays a modal window for uploading custom report templates.

  2. In the modal window, click the Select File button.

The system opens a Choose File to Upload window.

  3. In the Choose File to Upload window, navigate to the file you want to upload, select it, and click the Open button.

The system inserts the selected file name and location in the File Name field.

  4. It is not required, but you can add additional information about the custom report template in the Description field.

  5. Click the Save button to begin the upload process.

The system begins the upload process and closes the modal window.
