Maintaining an Item Family

The Item Family Summary contains all of the information recorded for an item family, including its items, action relationships, and acceptance actions. To access the summary, click the Item Family link in the Reference Data component, locate the item family you want to view, and then select Open from the Actions menu on the appropriate row.

The summary opens on the Associated Items tab. Each row represents one item that is part of the item family. Each row contains an Actions button and displays values in these fields:

To add items to this item family, click the Select Items button. The system opens a modal window that lists items that have the same spec book as this item family and are not yet associated with an item family. Select one or more items as needed. When you are finished, click the Add to Item Family button. The system closes the modal window and adds the items to the list.

To remove an item from this item family, select Remove from the Actions menu on the item row. The system shades the row gray to indicate it is marked for removal. To reverse the removal action, click the Undo button.

To save your changes, click the Save button. The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved in the database.
