Maintaining Item Family Information

An item family is a group of associated items that share the same spec book, action relationships, and acceptance actions. The Item Family Overview lists all of the item families in the system.

To access the overview, click the Item Family link in the Reference Data component.

Each row represents one item family. Each row contains an Actions button and values in these fields:

Click in a field and add, change, or delete information as needed.

To add a new item family, click the New button. The system adds a new blank row. To save the item family, you must enter a value in the Name and Spec Book fields.

To delete an item family, select Delete from the Actions menu on the item family row. The system shades the row gray to indicate it is marked for deletion. To reverse the delete action, click the Undo button.

When you are finished making changes, click the Save button. The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved in the database.

To view or change additional information for an item family, select Open from the Actions menu on the item family row. The system takes you to the Item Family Summary. See Maintaining an Item Family for more information.
