Vendor Work codes are used to classify a vendor's type of business in reports required by the federal and state government agencies that provide DBE programs.

The Work Codes tab on the DBE Summary component contains all the work codes that have been assigned to the vendor, organized into separate sections for each type of work code: NAICS, SIC and Specialty.

Each row represents one work code record and displays the current value for the code and an Actions menu. To maintain a work code record, expand the row to display all the available information.

Maintaining NAICS Codes

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS, pronounced Nakes) was developed as the standard for classifying business establishments and is used in the collection, analysis, and publication of statistical data related to the business economy of the United States. The system uses NAICS codes to track the data needed to meet federal and state requirements for civil rights and labor compliance analysis and reporting activities. To be qualified as a DBE vendor in the system, a vendor must be assigned at least one NAICS code.

When you have finished maintaining work code information, click the Save button to apply your changes to the system. The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved in the database.
