Maintaining Project Item Alternates

You can assign project items to an alternate set or change the items that are assigned to an alternate set for a project from the Project Overview component. Follow these steps to maintain project item alternates:

  1. On the Projects Overview component, locate the project for which you want to maintain item alternates.

  2. Select Items and Alternates from the Actions menu on the project's row.

    The system takes you to the Project Item Alternates Summary component, which contains an accordion list of all the categories for the project. Each row displays the number of project items included in the category and current values for the Cat ID, Description, Cat Alt Set ID, and Cat Alt Mbr ID fields.

  3. Expand a category row to display all the items assigned to that category. Each item row contains an Actions button and allows you to change information the Alt Set ID and Alt Member ID fields.

  4. For the project item you want to assign to an alternate set, click the down arrow in the Alt Set ID field, and select the appropriate alternate set.

    If no alternate sets are listed for selection, you will need to add alternate sets to the system first. For information about adding alternate sets, see Managing Item Alternate Sets.

  5. Click in the Alt Member ID field, and type a value for the alternate member ID.

  6. When you are finished making changes to item alternates, click the Save button to apply your changes.

    The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved in the database.
