If you are adding a new reference wage decision that is similar to another wage decision already saved in the database, you can save the time it would take to re-enter all the matching information by creating a copy of the existing wage decision and then assigning a new general decision number to the copy. You can then make any minor changes that are required in the new wage decision.
You can also use the Copy feature to create a wage decision modification for an existing reference wage decision. In this case, the modified record must have the same general decision number and decision date as the original reference wage decision.
Follow these steps to make a copy of a reference wage decision:
Navigate to the Reference Data component and click the Wage Decisions link.
On the Reference Wage Decision Overview component, locate the wage decision you want to copy.
Select Copy
from the Actions menu on the
wage decision's row.
The system takes you to the Copy
Wage Decision component. All fields are copied from the source wage
decision.
Note: You can also copy a wage
decision in the Wage Decision Modification Summary component by selecting
Copy from the Actions menu on the component header.
To create a new reference
wage decision, click in the General Decision
Number field and enter a unique number for the new wage decision.
Note: If you want to create
a wage decision modification for an existing reference wage decision,
you must not change the General Decision Number field.
To create a new reference
wage decision, click in the Decision Date
field and enter the effective date for the new wage decision.
Note: If you want to create
a wage decision modification for an existing reference wage decision,
you must not change the Decision Date field.
To create a new reference
wage decision, click in the Wage Decision
Description field and enter text to describe the new wage decision.
Note: If you want to create
a wage decision modification for an existing reference wage decision,
you must not change the Wage Decision Description field.
To create a new reference
wage decision, verify that the information in the State/Province,
Wage Construction Type, and Issuing
Authority fields applies. Update these fields as needed.
Note: If you want to create
a wage decision modification for an existing reference wage decision,
you must not change these fields.
To create a new reference
wage decision, click in the Modification
Description field and enter text to describe or identify the modification
for the new wage decision.
Note: If you want to create
a wage decision modification for an existing reference wage decision,
click in the Modification Description field and enter text to describe
or identify the new modification for the wage decision.
To create a new reference
wage decision, click the calendar icon in the Publication
Date field and select the date. The Publication Date must be the
same as, or later than, the Decision Date.
Note: If you want to create
a wage decision modification for an existing reference wage decision,
click the calendar icon in the Publication Date field and select the
date. The Publication Date must be the same as, or later than, the
Decision Date and the Publication Date of the wage decision you are
modifying.
Click Save.
The system saves the reference wage
decision and all of its associated information.
Note: A wage decision can have any number of modifications. When you add a new modification to a wage decision that includes previous modifications, it is possible that one of the previous modifications has been associated to a project that has not yet been let. In these circumstances, the system generates a warning message at the time you add the new modification. Your agency may require that the associated project be updated to the new wage decision modification.
Note:
As part of the Copy Reference Wage Decision process, the system modifies
a number of wage decision classification fields that are part of the
wage decision being copied. The fields affected represent original
and modified Wage Rate, Hourly Fringe, and Daily
Fringe information as well as the Modified
Effective Date.
The system compares the Modified Effective
Date of the source wage decision to the date of the new wage
decision (the date you entered on the Copy Wage Decision component). If
the Modified Effective Date
of the source wage decision is earlier than the new wage decision
date, the system clears the Modified
Effective Date field and moves the values in the Modified
Wage Rate, Hourly Fringe,
and Daily Fringe fields to
the Original Wage Rate, Hourly Fringe, and Daily
Fringe fields, respectively.
