You can copy the information on the General tab of the Facility Summary component from an existing facility to a new facility. To copy a facility, select Copy from the Actions menu on the Facility Summary component header.
Note: You can also access the Copy Facility function from the Facility Overview component by selecting Copy from the Actions menu on the facility row. Or from the Source Summary component, you can click the Facilities tab, and then select Copy from the Actions menu on the facility row.
When you copy a facility, the new facility is not linked to or associated with the original facility. If you want to maintain an association with the original facility, create a new version of the facility instead of copying it. See Creating a New Version of a Facility.
The Copy Facility component displays the same information on the General tab as the original facility. Information stored on other tabs is not copied. You can view or change information in these fields:
When the system creates a copy of a facility, the Sequence Number field for the new facility is set to 1. This indicates that the new facility is not linked to or associated with the facility that you copied.
Click in the Facility ID field and enter a unique value for the new facility. The remaining fields are filled automatically and cannot be modified during the process of copying.
You can add any number of remarks in the Remarks box. To record a remark, you must first select the type of remark from the Type field, then enter explanatory text in the Remarks text box.
When you are finished, click the Save button. The system displays a message to indicate your changes were saved. After the copied facility is saved, you can modify information about the facility as needed.
Maintaining Source Facility Information
