Updating Contract Data from FieldManager to Construction

Data migration is the process of moving data from one product database to another, usually for a product upgrade or relocation. A migration only transfers data that does not already exist in the target location. Once successfully migrated, data is managed in the new location and can no longer be managed in the source location.

The Update Contract Data from FieldManager interface migrates information on a contract-by-contract basis from client/server FieldManager to AASHTOWare Project Construction & Materials. This interface should be executed after running the Migrate Contract Data from CAS interface.

The following information is included in this update: contract time; daily diaries; daily work reports; items, item postings and attention flags; vendors, vendor equipment and personnel; contractors, contractor equipment, and personnel; stockpiles and stockpile transactions; materials; and attachments.

For information about planning the migration of contract data, see the AASHTOWare Project Construction & Materials Data Migration Plan, available on the AASHTOWare Project web site.

Follow these steps to migrate contract data from FieldManager to Construction:

  1. From any page in the system, select Execute System Interface from the Actions menu on the Menu bar.

The system takes you to the System Interface component, which displays a list of all the available interfaces.

  2. In the list, select Update Contract Data from FieldManager.

The system displays Select Data in the Settings menu on the component subheader and a Quick Find search box for locating contracts to migrate.

  3. Type criteria in the Quick Find search box, or click Show first 10.

The system lists all the contracts in the system that match your search criteria.

  4. Click the row for each contract you want to include in the migration.

The system displays a check mark beside each selected contract.

  5. Optional: If you want to schedule the interface process to run at a later time, select Schedule Interface on the Settings menu. Select the Enable Scheduling check box and set scheduling information as required. For more information, see Scheduling a Process.

  6. Click the Execute button on the component header.

The system runs the interface process.

  7. You can monitor the status of the interface process on the Process History Overview component.

In the process history, the system displays a Process Running message until it completes the interface process, at which time the finish time and success of a process is displayed. For more information, see Viewing Process History.
