Preliminary Detail Estimate

Also referred to as the PS&E Estimate, the Preliminary Detail Estimate is a group of reports that uses the Engineer's estimated prices to provide a project, proposal, or prime project view of costs, including add-on engineering and contingency percentages and funding breakdowns.

The Preliminary Detail Estimate comprises six individual reports:

When you generate the Preliminary Detail Estimate, you can choose to include one, several, or all of these reports.

You can generate the Preliminary Detail Estimate for a single project from the Project Overview or Summary components. When generated for a project, the report is named the Preliminary Project Detail Estimate.

You can generate the Preliminary Detail Estimate for a one or more proposals from the Proposal Overview, Proposal Summary, or Bid Letting Summary components. When generated for a proposal, the report is named the Preliminary Proposal Detail Estimate.

You can generate the Preliminary Detail Estimate for a single prime project from the Prime Project Overview or Summary components. When generated for a prime project, the report is named the Preliminary Prime Project Detail Estimate.

You can generate the Preliminary Detail Estimate for multiple projects, proposals, or prime projects by selecting Generate Report from the Actions menu on the Menu Bar. For more information, see Working with Reports.
