Managing Material Tests

The materials used in highway construction must be tested to make sure they meet agency standards and contract requirements. The majority of tests are material tests, but tests can also be used to test processes or comprise a battery of tests.

The Test Overview component is the gateway to managing the agency's inventory of material test methods, test method templates, and test billing information. The information in these components is used to provide a list of valid tests for a material when performing sampling and testing processes.

To access the Test Overview component, click the Tests link in the Reference Data component.

To view or make changes to an existing test, first locate the test by typing criteria in the Quick Find search box or by clicking Show first 10. The system displays a list tests that match your search criteria.

Each row contains an Actions button and current values for the following fields:

To change the information in a test record, click the Test Method link in the list or select Open from the Actions menu on the test row. The system takes you to the Test Summary component. See Maintaining a Material Test.

To add one or more new tests, select Add from the Action menu on the component header. The system takes you to the Add Test component. See Adding a Material Test.

To delete a test, select Delete from the Actions menu on the test row. To reverse the delete action, click the Undo button.

When you are finished adding and deleting tests, click the Save button. The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved in the database.
