Maintaining Earth-Moving Events

An earth-moving event occurs any time a contractor uses a bulldozer or other heavy equipment to move dirt from one location to another in the course of a construction project. They can be necessary for a variety of reasons, such as excavation, transportation, placement, or disposal of earth.

The Earth-Moving Events tab on the Contract Progress Summary contains a list of all the earth-moving events recorded for the contract. Each row contains an Actions button and current values for the following fields:

To change information in an earth-moving event row, click anywhere in that row. The system highlights the selected row. Click in any editable field and add or change information as required.

To add a new earth-moving event to the contract, click the New button. The system adds a new row at the bottom of the list. All fields in the new row are blank. To create a new earth-moving event, you must enter information in the Desc field. Record information in other fields as needed.

To delete an earth-moving event, select Delete from the Actions menu on the event row. The system shades the row to indicate it is marked for deletion. To reverse the delete action, click the Undo button.

When you are finished making changes to earth-moving events, click the Save button to apply your changes to the system (including deleted information). The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved in the database.
