A destination lab is a building, project, or field location to which material is shipped. Destination labs disseminate material samples to the appropriate lab unit for testing.
A lab unit is a lab that specializes in a particular type of material testing within a destination lab. One destination lab can include multiple lab units, but a lab unit can be assigned to only one destination lab.

When you click the Destination Labs link on the Reference Summary component, the system takes you to the Destination Lab Overview component, where you can add and delete destination labs and associated lab units. Labs are already entered into the system as lab reference data. When you add a destination lab or lab unit, you designate an existing reference lab as either a destination lab or lab unit. When you delete a destination lab or lab unit, you remove that designation.

Type criteria in the Quick Find search box to locate the destination lab you want to maintain, or click Show first 10. The system displays a list of rows for the destination labs and associated lab units that match your search criteria. Each row for a destination lab contains an Actions button, a count of associated lab units, and current values for the following fields:

If a destination lab has associated lab units, you can expand the destination lab row to show the rows for the associated lab units. Each lab unit row contains an Actions button and current values for the following fields:

  1. Note: The Mobile check box must be selected for each lab unit that will be recorded in the Mobile Tester Application.

To delete a destination lab and its associated lab units, select Delete from the Actions menu on the destination lab row. To reverse the delete action, click the Undo button.

To remove a lab unit from a destination lab, select Delete from the Actions menu on the lab unit row. To reverse the delete action, click the Undo button.

Click the Save button to apply your changes to the system. The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved in the database.
