Typically, the items in a project are numbered sequentially beginning with 010 and increasing by increments of 10 (these are default values; depending on agency option settings, your agency's defined values for beginning line number and increment might differ). If a proposal contains more than one project, the same line numbers are used in each project in the proposal; therefore the proposal contains duplicate project line numbers.
To change this, you can automatically assign unique line numbers to all the items in a proposal from several locations in the system.
Note: This feature is not available if your agency uses the option to set proposal line numbers to match project line numbers.
Perform one of the following procedures to generate unique line numbers in a proposal:
In the Proposal Overview component, select Generate Unique Project Line Numbers from the Actions menu on the proposal's row.
Or
On the Proposal Sections and Items component, select Generate Unique Project Line Numbers from the Actions menu on the component header.
The system renumbers the project line numbers and displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved in the database.
Note: If your agency restricts the length of the Line Number field, the new line numbers cannot exceed the maximum size of the line number field set in the metadata.
