Copying Item Family Actions to the Same Item Family on a Different Spec Book

The system includes a process that enables you to copy actions associated with item families in one spec book to the matching item families in a different spec book. When you execute this process, the system finds an item family with the same Item Family Name that uses the destination spec book, and then copies the actions from the item family in the source spec book. If an item family in the destination spec book already has associated actions, the system does not copy any actions for that item family.

The system copies all (active and inactive) action relationships, reference specifications, reference specification conditions, reference specification condition fields, acceptance actions, acceptance action options, and action relationship rate frequencies.

Follow these steps to copy item actions:

  1. Select Execute Process from the Actions menu on the Menu Bar.

The system takes you to the Execute Process component with the Select Process page displayed.

  2. In the list of processes, select Copy Item Family Actions to the Same Item Family on a Different Spec Book.

The system adds a check mark beside the selection, and displays the Set Parameters page of the Execute Process component.

  3. In the From Spec Book field, enter the spec book from which you want to copy associated item family actions.

  4. In the To Spec Book field, enter the spec book to which you want to copy the item family actions.

  5. If you want to schedule the process to run at a later time, select Schedule Process from the Settings menu on the component subheader.

For more information, see Scheduling a Process.

Note: This feature is not available to external users.

  6. Click the Execute button on the component header.

The system runs the copy process. You can monitor the status of the process on the Process History Overview component.
