Note: This tab is not available unless your agency has selected the agency option to allow increases and decreases to contract times on change orders.
A common reason for creating a change order is to adjust the completion date for a milestone or contract because work has fallen behind or been completed ahead of schedule. To make these adjustments, click the Time Adjustments tab on the Contract Change Order Summary.
Expand a row to view all of the information in a time adjustment. You can view but not change this additional information for the time adjustment:
If the Time Type for the adjustment is Available Time or Calendar Time, you can change the value in the Adjustment Time Units field. When you save the change, the system automatically recalculates the value in the Adjustment Completion Date field.
If the Time Type for the adjustment is Completion Date, you can change the value in either the Adjustment Time Units field or the Adjustment Completion Date field. If you change:
The Adjustment Time Units field, the system clears the value from the Adjustment Completion Date field. When you save the change, the system recalculates the value in the Adjustment Completion Date field based on the value you entered in the Adjustment Time Units field.
The Adjustment Completion Date field, the system clears the value from the Adjustment Time Units field. When you save the change, the system recalculates the value in the Adjustment Time Units field based on the value you entered in the Adjustment Completion Date field.
Note: If you edit both the Adjustment Time Units and the Adjustment Completion Date fields, the system displays an error when you try to save the change. You can make one only one time adjustment per contract time per change order.
If you need to add or change explanations for the time adjustment, expand the Change Order Explanations section.
To save a new change order explanation in the system, you must enter information in this field:
It is not required, but you can enter information in these fields to record additional information about the change order explanation:
Reference Explanation Name (When you enter a value in this field, the system displays the explanation type below the name, and it displays the description in the Explanation Description field.)
To delete a time adjustment, select Delete from the Actions menu on the time adjustment row. The system shades the row gray to indicate it is marked for deletion. To reverse the delete action, click the Undo button.
When you are finished, click the Save button. The system displays a message to confirm that your changes were saved in the database.
Note: To add a time adjustment, the change order status must be Draft. The change order status is displayed on the component subheader.
